After graduating from the Technical School of Nicosia in Cyprus, in 1978 Leontios was employed for 2 years at J & P Ltd in Libya as a workman.
Between the years 1980-1985 he worked for PELEZA Lt in Saudi Arabia as a foreman.
In 1985-1988 he was self-employed for Steel and Mechanical Works in Cyprus.
In 1988, Leontios became one of the two partners of Cyprometal’ establishment.
